 Hi, I’m Amanda, and I operate an approved day home through Hanna Family Day Homes Inc. With over 20 years of experience, I am a dedicated stay at home mom, childcare provider, and bonus Aunty to many.

At Prairie Explorers Childcare, we focus on fostering important life skills that help us grow together, such as sharing, kindness, manners, proper handwashing, teamwork and ways to respect ourselves and others. We offer a variety of daily indoor and outdoor activities both structured and free play in our home and fully fenced backyard.
Our commitment goes beyond keeping children safe, we nurture their individual curiosity and uniqueness. We offer a mix of individual and group activities, including educational games, reading, sensory bins, and water play (such as summer trips to the spray park). We also encourage creative expression through activities like arts and crafts, fort building and cardboard creations from their imaginations.
We have frequent, age-appropriate conversations about boundaries, natural consequences, taking turns, and practicing patience. Our home is a safe space for every emotion, where empathy and compassion are encouraged. We teach children to also be mindful with their words, understanding that while spills can be wiped up, hurt feelings last much longer.
Emotional regulation is a key focus, and we consistently practice skills like waiting for our turn and using our words to express frustration. We also engage in brainstorming sessions to help children find solutions to problems they encounter.
A variety of healthy, child-approved lunches and snacks are provided. I offer full-time, part-time, and back-up care, with evening and weekend care available upon request.
Transportation is part of our service, as we love exploring the parks, community playgroups, and library programs in our awesome community. This includes frequent visits to the school park, as well as help with school drop-offs, pickups, and transportation to sports.
